Parosmia Awareness Day

June 27

Although everyone's experience may be slightly different,

June 27 was chosen for Parosmia Awareness Day

because it is four months after Anosmia Awareness Day (February 27),

which is the approximate amount of time it takes for parosmia to develop

in someone who is recovering from anosmia,

which is a total loss of the sense of smell.

The First Parosmia Awareness Day was June 27, 2022

SmellTaste

Formerly: Fifth Sense

Fifth Sense has re-branded to: SmellTaste.  https://www.smelltaste.org.uk/

Fifth Sense, the UK-based charity for people affected by smell and taste disorders, holds free on-line events for people affected by smell and taste dysfunction.

I support their #LetsTalkSmellAndTaste Parosmia Support Group events by volunteering as a co-host. These informal online meetings are a great way to share your thoughts and feelings about living with a distorted sense of smell with other people who understand.

You can sign up to become a member and receive mailings. It’s a great way to find out about
the work the charity is doing to support, inform and raise awareness of smell and taste disorders.
